About the Hackathon
The 2024 IndabaX Somalia Hackathon was a two-day event dedicated to improving Somali natural language processing. Participants formed teams, guided by facilitators, to collect, structure, and refine Somali sentences, contributing to the development of AI-driven Somali translation tools. The event provided a collaborative atmosphere with hands-on learning, networking opportunities, and great food.
